The Reverend Scott Stiegemeyer was born June 16, 1969 in Independence, MO where he also grew up.  His parents are Edmund and Jody Stiegemeyer, who still live in the Kansas City area.  Scott entered the pre-seminary program at Concordia University-Ann Arbor, MI in the fall of 1987 and graduated in 1991.  His double major was philosophy/classics.  Next Scott enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN.  His seminary internship (vicarage) year was spent in Los Angeles, CA.  He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree in 1995.  He remained for an additional year to work on a Master in Sacred Theology.  He completed a masters degree in bioethics from Trinity, International University in Deerfield, IL in 2015.

In the spring of 1996, Scott was ready for a call into the Office of the Holy Ministry.  His first position was to be a recruiter for the seminary.  After three years of service in Fort Wayne, God called Scott to serve Concordia Lutheran Church in Brentwood, PA, a suburb of Pittsburgh.  The Lord blessed his ministry there for seven years.  For most of that time he served as the local circuit counselor for the Eastern District of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod.  He had the opportunity during those years to participate in two short-term overseas mission projects in the Sudan in 2004 and eastern Russia in 2006.  For two years, Scott was the co-host for a weekly live radio show called "Let's Talk about Jesus" on WORD-FM.  After seven years in parish ministry in Pittsburgh, Scott was led to return to the seminary. This time he became the Director of Admission, a post he held from to 2009.  He has served as pastor of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Elmhurst since January 2010.

Scott met Julie Banks at college in Ann Arbor and they married in the summer of 1990.  Julie studied English for her B.A. and later earned a Master's degree in English from Indiana University.  She has had over twenty children's books published and has written articles for numerous publications.  They have one child, a son named Jacob who is off to college.

Scott enjoys books, analyzing popular culture from a theological standpoint, strong coffee, sushi, hot Indian cuisine, and bioethics.
